Pottsville, Pa.-Based Brewer Begins Setting Up Shop in Tampa, Fla.

Apr. 15--The Stroh signs will officially come down at the brewery near 30th Street and Fowler Avenue, and work is already under way to make
Yuengling beer in Tampa.

Plant manager Otto Wiesneth said Wednesday the purchase by the Pottsville, Pa., brewer has closed and Yuengling will begin advertising
for workers in Sunday's Tampa Tribune. Longtime brewer Wiesneth, who managed the plant for Stroh, was brought aboard to restart the facility
for the new owner.

Wiesneth said D.G. Yuengling & Son is seeking experienced brewery workers, but there is no formal priority system to rehire laid-off Stroh
workers. He did not offer specific staffing levels, but said starting up would be slow as refrigeration, steam and other equipment is brought up
to speed.

He was not specific about pay levels except to say wages would be "competitive."

The ex-Stroh workers are represented by Teamsters union Local 79 in Tampa, and secretary-treasurer Brian Rothman said the union is
"attempting to have dialogue with the company about putting laid-off Stroh workers back to work."

Dick Yuengling Jr., fifth-generation president of the brewery, met with Tampa Mayor Dick Greco this week and reiterated his willingness to meet
with union representatives.

Wiesneth said job seekers are discouraged from sending resumes until details appear in the ad Sunday.
