Oct. 6--TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--Two of Tallahassee's three beer/soft-drink
distributors have been bought by Cone Distributing Inc., owner of distributors
in 16 other North Florida counties.
Doug Cone, owner of Cone Distributing Inc., bought Ryals Lee Sales Co. and
Spearman Distributors Inc. The deals took about a seven months to close. Cone
took over operations at Ryals Lee Sales Sept. 22 and at Spearman Distributors
Sept. 28. Both distributors are now called Cone Distributors.
"This will be our sixth and seventh acquisitions," said Cone, who lives in
Ocala
and began his business in 1985 after buying an existing distributorship, T.M.
Mehaffey Distributing Co.
"I have always looked to expand the business...
